The network tripped on 13-Oct-2022 at 09:34 a.m.

The reason for this power outage is unknown so far. But as per experts, the WAPDA network gets tripped due to an over-current fault in the Guddu Power plant leading to a series of tripping of interconnected transmission lines which are connected with it.

Connected lines include the Guddu Power plant to Jamshoro and NKI lines which is the main source of power for Sindh & Balochistan from the WAPDA (NTDC) network which leads to a power outage (tripping of power) in Karachi.  Ministry of Energy tweeted about the fault that occurred in the Southern part of Pakistan.

Teams are investigating the matter of this tripping caused and restoration efforts are underway for the resolution.
